STERLILNG, Kan. (scwarriors.com) – The Sterling College Athletic Department has released the fall schedule for the Men’s Soccer team.
The schedule consists of 18 regular season games with 2 scrimmages to start the fall season. Of the regular season games, 10 will be played in Sterling. Five games will be played against nonconference opponents, three of which will be at home.
The Warriors open KCAC play with a home game against Bethany College on September 13, 2023, at 4pm. Sterling will play their Homecoming game on Friday afternoon, October 13, at 3 pm. The Evangel Valor make their inaugural push in the KCAC, and Sterling is slated to play at Evangel on October 20 with a 5:30 pm start. The regular season will conclude at home on October 28, at 2:30 pm as the Warriors take on the Ottawa University Braves.
Sterling finished in 8th place last season with a 5-9-5 season record, 4-6-3 in the KCAC. With the NAIA making the decision to allow ties at the end of regulation in the regular season, there has been a lot of shakeup in conference and national standings. One more win for the Warriors last season would have catapulted them to the 6th seed heading into the postseason.
