McPherson, Kan. (CCCTigers.com) – The Central Christian College of Kansas Women’s Volleyball program hosted a scrimmage including seven area colleges in what was a fun filled day packed with a lot of volleyball. The participating colleges were Hutchinson Community College, Baker, Bethel, Bethany, Southwestern, Kansas Christian, and Friends University.

Each team was able to play four matches throughout the day. The Tigers took on Hutch CC, Bethany, and Baker. One of the main attractions for Central Christian to host was how centrally located they are in relation to the other schools. This made it easier for the teams to make the day trip to McPherson and get some live action practice in before their season starts.

When asked about the day, Coach Rick Hughes said, “Thank you to all the teams and fans that came out to our pre-season scrimmage. It was great to be back in the gym and playing volleyball again. There was a lot of competition amongst all the programs. Our team came out to work and it showed. Watching our team compete and gel more as a team showed me that we have an exciting season ahead of us. It’s a great time to be a Tiger!”.

The Tigers kick off their regular season in Hastings, Neb. on August 23rd and 24th. Their first home match of the season is August 27th at 4:00PM.
