ODESSA, Tex. (BlueDragonSports.com) – Playing its second nationally ranked opponent early this season, the Hutchinson Community College volleyball team was swept by No. 15 Odessa at the OC Invitational at the OC Sports Center on Thursday night.
One week after bouncing then-No. 9 Indian Hills in the McCook Invitational, the Blue Dragons got off to a slow start and fell to the Wranglers 25-12, 25-17, 27-25 in the first of four matches this weekend.
The Blue Dragons (6-5) will play No. 14 New Mexico Junior College at Noon and Vernon College at 5 p.m. on Friday in Matches 2 and 3 of the OC Invitational.

Sophomore Tiana Simmons, one night after her huge night against Seward County, had a team-high nine kills against Odessa. Simmons added two block assists.
Freshman outside hitter Viktoria Graf had eight kills and Atlyn Proctor was next with five kills.
Sophomore setter Shelbi Wilson guided the Blue Dragon offense with 23 assists.
Freshman libero Addy Foster reached double figures in digs for the 10th time in 11 matched with 11 digs. Freshmen Brooke Galey and Siani Sanchez had six digs each.
Graf had the only service ace for the Dragons against Odessa.
