Victoria Knights to Play Hanover Wildcats in Eight-Man II State Championship

The Victoria High School Knights (11-0) will play the Hanover Wildcats (12-0) in a battle of undefeated teams in the Kansas Eight-Man II football state championship game next Saturday at Greensburg-Kiowa County High School Stadium.

In the Eight-Man II state playoff semifinals Friday night, Victoria defeated Hodgeman County 48-0 and Hanover fought off four-time defending champion Axtell 34-24.

Hanover defeated Axtell 26-18 Oct. 17 at Hanover to snap Axtell’s 58-game winning streak. It was the longest winning streak in Kansas Eight-Man football history.

Axtell finished the season with a 10-2 record and Hodgeman County finished with a 10-1 mark.
