McPHERSON, Kan. – Two high school Girls Soccer athletes in McPherson were named as part of Team Kansas for the Kansas vs. Oklahoma High School All-Star game.
The players who were a part of McPherson High School’s Girls Soccer team, Ellie Herrera and Grace Prescott, will represent the Sunflower State in the All-Star game. Both players were named All-State honorees following the Spring 2025 season.
Herrera will be just one of two freshmen as a part of the Kansas team after being named the Kansas 4-1A Goalkeeper of the Year. Herrera also earned First Team All-State honors after averaging 6.6 saves/game and allowing 20 total goals on the season, according to the Kansas High School Soccer Coaches Association (KHSSCA). Herrera also competed in Track & Field, finishing 2nd in State in the High Jump.
Prescott, who attends Elyria Christian School, was tied for the second-most goal on the team with 14 scored in the 2025 season. The junior finished as a First-Team All-State Midfielder, as selected by the KHSSCA. She also tied for the most total points on the team with 35 as she also assisted on seven made goals by her Bullpup teammates.
The game will be played Saturday, July 19 at Friends University in Wichita.
