McPHERSON, Kan. – The McPherson High School Boys Golf team stayed in their hometown for the 4A Regional Golf Tournament at Turkey Creek Golf Course. The team was unable to qualify the whole team to state, but two golfers qualified for the State Championships.
The team finished 4th in the tournament, just missing out on qualifying the team by just eight strokes. Two Bullpups, Cole Cooper and Paxton Ingels, finished in the top 15 to qualify them to state. Cooper finished 4th shooting 76 (+6) and Ingels tied for 11th with 85 (+15).
Buhler took the top spot out of eight teams. Pratt and Concordia tied for second, but Pratt took the tiebreaker as they had a higher-placed fifth golfer. Buhler’s Zach Chance ended as the individual champion, beating Abilene’s Aaron Hartman in two playoff holes after finishing +2 after a full round.
Cooper and Ingels will head to Newton to play at the Sand Creek Station Golf Course May 27-28.
