WICHITA, Kan. (TaborBluejays.com) – The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) announced their selection for the KCAC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week award on Monday afternoon.

Madie McCoy was named as this week’s KCAC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week after her performance in last week’s games against McPherson and Sterling. Tabor secured a 91-51 victory over the Bulldogs on Wednesday and followed up with another conference win against the Warriors, defeating them 71-56 on Saturday evening in Hillsboro.

McCoy was a solid defensive force against both teams last week. She grabbed 16 defensive rebounds, swiped four steals, and helped hold McPherson to 51 points and Sterling to 56 points, which is below their season averages of 56.0 points per game and 76.9 points per game, respectively.

This is McCoy’s first time earning this award for an outstanding defensive performance this season. Her consistent defensive excellence has been a key factor in the Lady Bluejays’ success throughout the season.
