KANSAS CITY, Mo. (TaborBluejays.com) – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced their NAIA Champions of Character Institutions.

Tabor College was named a 2023-24 NAIA Champions of Character Gold Five-Star Institution. Not only did Tabor earn the highest award given, the Bluejays also earned a perfect score on their NAIA Champions of Character scorecard. This year marks fourth consecutive school year that Tabor has earned a perfect score, being only one of six institutions to earn a perfect score for three-years running after last year’s results.

209 member institutions were named NAIA Champions of Character Five-Star Award winners for 2023-24, with 131 schools achieving Gold status, 63 schools achieving Silver status, and 15 schools achieving Bronze status. Schools scoring in the 60-74 point range earned Bronze, schools scoring in the 75-89 point range earned silver, and schools scoring in the 90-100 point range earned Gold. The goal of the Champions of Character scorecard is to measure and promote the pursuit of character-driven athletics.

Institutions are measured on a demonstrated commitment to Champions of Character and earn points in character training, conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition, and character promotion. Institutions earned points based on exceptional student-athlete grade point averages (GPA) and by having minimal to no ejections during competition throughout the course of the academic year.
