Little River’s football season ended with a heartbreaking 50-44 loss to Sylvan-Lucas in a Kansas Eight-Man I East bracket sectional round (quarterfinal) game at Little River.
The Mustangs led 14-8 after one quarter, 28-16 at halftime and 50-36 after three quarters.
Little River cut the Mustangs’ lead to 50-44 with 11:32 left to play in the game.
Sylvan-Lucas (10-1) advanced to the Eight-Man Ii semifinals next Friday. The Mustangs will play Lincoln (10-1), which knocked off Ell-Saline 46-44 Friday night in Brookville.
Little River and Ell-Saline both finished the season with 9-2 records.
