WICHITA, Kan. (KCACSports.com) — Jessica Gautreau of Sterling College and McKenzie Stricker of York University have earned this week’s KCAC Women’s Soccer Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from Aug. 26-Sept. 1 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Equity Bank.
Offensive Player of the Week
Jessica Gautreau – Sterling College
Jr. | F | Fort Worth, Texas
Gautreau is establishing herself as the primary offensive threat for the Warrior offense once again. She scored her first hat trick of the season with three solid goals against CCC. The first was a top shelf goal from the right corner of the box to the top left corner of the goal. Her third was from 25 yards out that went throught the block of the keeper and rolled in. Sterling went 1-1 this week, in large part to Gautreau’s performance.

Defensive Player of the Week
McKenzie Stricker – York University

Stricker played phenomenal defense in the center back for the Panthers backline. She held the Doane Tigers to just four shots through the entire 90 minutes of play. She also garnered the assist on the game-winning goal as she launched the free kick from 45 yards out into the box for her teammate to capitalize on the cross.
