KANSAS — Pairings have been announced for KSHSAA state volleyball tournaments Friday and Saturday.
Andale and McPherson qualified for the 4A state tournament at the Hutchinson Sports Arena. Andale, which won the substate they hosted, is seeded 5th and will play Eudora at 3:30 PM Friday, top seed Clearwater at 6:30 PM and Bishop Miege at 7:30 PM. McPherson, the 3rd seed, will face Louisburg at 3:30 PM, Holton at 5:30 PM and Circle at 8:30 PM.
Cheney and Smoky Valley will also be in Hutchinson for the 3A tournament. Cheney is the 3rd seed and will take on Silver Lake at 8:30 AM, Riverton at 10:30 AM, and Neodesha at 1:30 PM. Smoky Valley, the 5th seed, will face Olathe Heritage Christian at 8:30 AM, top seed Beloit at 11:30 PM and Goodland at 12:30 PM at the Sports Arena.
Hillsboro and Inman qualified for the 2A tournament at United Wireless Arena in Dodge City, Hillsboro upset top seed Sedgwick in the finals of the Hillsboro substate to earn their trip to state, where they will be the 4th seed. The Lady Trojans open Friday afternoon at 3:30 PM against Maranatha Christian Academy, and then play Sedan at 5:30 PM and top seed Smith Center at 8:30 PM.
Inman, the 2nd seed behind Smith Center and winner of the Sterling substate, will face Valley Heights at 4:30 PM, St. Mary’s-Colgan at 6:30, and Hoxie at 8:30.
Little River, which won their home substate, is the 2nd seed in the 1A-I tournament in Dodge City. They will play their first match at 9:30 AM Friday against Olpe, face Clifton-Clyde at 11:30 AM, and Spearville at 1:30 PM.
Elyria Christian, which knocked off top seed Central Christian in the finals of the Centre-Lost Springs substate, is the 7th seed in the 1A-II tournament at White Auditorium in Emporia. Their matches will be against Beloit-St. John’s/Tipton at 11 AM, Argonia at noon, and Sharon Springs-Wallace County at 2 PM.
The top two teams in each pool will advance to the semi-finals Saturday, which for the 1A Divisions and 3A will begin at 9 AM and for 2A and 4A at 1 PM.
