Braxton Alpers accounted for six of the nine St. John touchdowns, and he intercepted a pass, while Jace Reyes had three interceptions – one of those being a pick six – and also scored on a rushing touchdown as well as a receiving touchdown, as duo helped St. John defeat Macksville 60-14 on Friday.

Macksville’s two touchdowns both came on big Mustang returns, one coming on a 55-yard kickoff return touchdown by freshman Jaret Corpening, and the other on a 60-yard punt return touchdown by senior Gavin Rose.

This battle for Stafford County officially sealed a playoff spot for St. John, as the Tigers wrapped up third place in 8-Man’s tough District 6. The Tigers will wait to see who they play next week in the opening round of the Playoffs, as Macksville awaits their Week 9 non-bracket game opponent.
