McPHERSON, Kan. ( — The Avila University Eagles and the McPherson College Bulldogs braved the windy conditions Saturday (Apr. 8) with the Eagles coming away with a pair of victories at Bulldog Park.

The Eagles got off to a hot start in game one, scoring six runs in the top of the first inning, including a grand slam by Hallie Campbell.

Rowdy New put the Bulldogs on the board in the third with a single to right field, advancing Shey Storesund to third, before scoring on an error by the Eagles’ right fielder.

But from there the Eagles scored two more in the fifth and one in the sixth to pick up the run-rule victory.

But from there, the Eagles rattled off seven unanswered runs over the next six innings, scoring two in each of the second, third, and fifth innings and one in the seventh.

The Bulldogs threatened in the bottom of the seventh, scoring once when New grounded out to the short stop allowing Kaylee Farnsworth to score, but that would be all that the Bulldogs could muster.
