Marion, Ind. (BethanySwedes.com) – The Swedes closed out the outdoor season with a couple of athletes qualifying to participate in the 2024 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.
Kort Sjogren led the way for the Swedes with a 9th place finish in the Men’s Javelin Throw. Sjogren finished with a throw of 60.05 meters, good for his second-best throw of his career as Kort had a throw of 61.09 just a couple of weeks before in the Loper Twilight Last Chance Meet. As for his standing compared to other KCAC competitors, Sjogren finish 3rd.
Inioulwa “Enoch” Ojo qualified for two events in the Outdoor Championships. Ojo’s first event was on day 2 where he raced in the 400-meter sprint. Ultimately, Ojo finished 35th in the event with a time of 49.24 seconds, but represented the KCAC as the only competitor from the conference. Fortunately, Enoch’s next event was on day 3, so he was able to get some rest between events. On day 3, Ojo competed in the Triple Jump placing 23rd with a jump of 13.82 meters.

This marks the end of the season for the Swedes as both seniors in this meet showed out. Now is the time for recovery before prepping for the upcoming indoor season for the shorter distances and upcoming cross-country season for the longer distances.
