STERLING, Kan. – With the Sterling College men’s basketball team falling short of the NAIA National Tournament, they have the opportunity to make another postseason run. Sterling has declared to participate in the NCCAA National Tournament and will begin play Monday night in Sterling at 7 pm. To reward the resurgence in the men’s basketball program, they have met the requirements set by Sterling College Athletics to head compete in this postseason tournament.
Sterling College will face Southwestern Christian University in a regional championship, with the winner heading to the 8-team national championship. If the Warriors win their regional championship, they will compete for up to 4 days, March 15-18, at Grace College in Winona Lake, Ind. Grace College is the host of this year’s tournament.
One of the staples of the NCCAA National Tournaments is that every team participating will take part in a community service project. Often times these projects require interaction between the teams and reward the communities where they are taking place. The week kicks off with a championship banquet for the teams on March 13. Tuesday is a full day of service projects for each team. Wednesday to Saturday will be the tournament itself.
Come out Monday evening, March 6, at 7 pm to cheer on the Warrior Men’s Basketball team in their quest to make a run in the NCCAA National Tournament. The values of the NCCAA and Sterling College closely match, which makes the membership between this organization and the College a good fit.
