Danai Morgan scored 28 points, and Ava Krone added 15, as the Hutchinson High girls dominated the second half in beating Great Bend 62-41.
The Salthawks led just 31-30 at half, but then outscored the Panthers 31-11 in the second half. Morgan scored 13 second-half points, while Krone had 11.
Great Bend was held to just three made field goals in the second half.
Hutchinson improves to 6-4 and moves a half game out of the top eight in the Class 5A West substate standings. The top eight teams host a semifinal game.
Hutchinson boys 61, Great Bend 50 – The Salthawks won their second straight game, and won for the fourth time in six games, as they won at Great Bend.
