The Hutchinson High boys soccer team had its best defensive effort of the season Tuesday at Valley Center, but the Salthawks also failed to score for the first time this season, as Valley Center won 1-0 in overtime.
The Salthawks had not been held to fewer than two goals in any prior game. They allowed one goal in a 3-1 win last week against Eisenhower, but that game was over in regulation.
The loss snapped a two-game winning streak and dropped the Salthawks to 3-5-1. They’ll return to the Salthawk Sports Complex at 6:30 p.m. Thursday to take on Arkansas City.
