Salthawks Offense Goes Wild in Thrashing of Campus

HAYSVILLE, Kan. – Hutchinson High had another big offensive attack Friday, getting 373 yards on 52 plays, as the Salthawks rolled to their fourth win of the season, 49-21 over Campus.

Terrell King continued his strong season, rushing for 101 yards on just three carries. He had an 83-yard touchdown run and returned a kickoff 77 yards for another score.

Kade Smith also had a strong game, rushing six times for 97 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Zion Burgess added 74 rushing yards and a touchdown while Robert Hunter ran for a touchdown, and threw another to Devon Spiller.

Campus had just 227 yards, 174 coming on the Colts’ three touchdown drives, one of which came in the fourth quarter.

Hutchinson improved to 4-2 while remaining in a logjam in the Class 5A West District standings. The Salthawks are currently in eighth place, but Maize South is currently third at 5-1 and the Salthawks beat Maize South. The Salthawks will play host to Maize next week.
