The Hutchinson High boys wrestling team continued to perform well against a rugged schedule, finishing in fifth place at the Newton Tournament of Champions on Friday and Saturday in Newton.
Although no Salthawk reached the championship match, the Salthawks gobbled up plenty of points. Cruz Cannon finished third in the 126-pound division to lead the Salthawks, going 5-1.
James Hill (215) finished fourth with a 4-2 record. Four other Salthawks finished in fifth place, including Dion Brown (106), Cooper Harris (150), Max Harris (175) and Jackson Anderson (190).
Hutch girls also compete in Newton – Adaia Brown led the girls wrestling team with a sixth-place finish. Brown went 3-3 in the 110-pound division.
Karly Belote (105) also won a pair of matches but did not place.
