The Hutchinson High boys soccer team tried for a second straight upset win in the Class 5A West Regional tournament, but the Salthawks came up short against No. 5 Kapaun Mount Carmel on Thursday.
The 13-seeded Salthawks, who beat No. 4 Valley Center on penalty kicks in Tuesday’s semifinals, fell 5-0 to Kapaun at Stryker Sports Complex.
Kapaun led 2-0 at halftime before adding three second-half goals.
Hutchinson ends the season 8-9-1. Kapaun improved 13-5.
