The Hutchinson High boys soccer team fell in an early three-goal hole and couldn’t recover, as Maize South prevailed 5-1 on Tuesday at Maize South.
The Salthawks were victims of some bad luck in falling behind 3-0 in the first half, but they managed to get a goal back from Griff Galyon before halftime.
Maize South kept up the pressure with a pair of second-half goals.
Hutch falls to 4-6-1 and will return home on Thursday to take on Derby.
