The Hutchinson High cross country teams qualified two individuals for the Class 5A state meet, which will be next Saturday at Rim Rock Farm near Lawrence.
One boys runner and one girls runner qualified at the Class 5A regional in Great Bend.
On the boys side, freshman Crisitian Medina finished ninth on the 5,000-meter course in a time of 17 minutes, 47.84 seconds. Medina was the only freshman in the top 15.
The boys team finished eighth in the regionals.
On the girls side, junior Avery Tecklenburg qualified with a 13th-place finish. She finished in a time of 21 minutes, 29.31 seconds.
