The Reno County Sabres boys basketball team captured the 2025 Fairfield Falcon Classic championship with a 57-51 title-game victory over Flinthills Friday night.
Luke Asberry led the Sabres with 24 points. Sam Loewen added 9 points and Colt Smith 8.
The Fairfield High School boys basketball team placed third in the 2025 Falcon Classic Friday night with a 52-42 victory over Cunningham.
The Pretty Prairie boys (2-3) defeated Stafford 58-50 in the fifth-place boys game. The Bulldogs lost to Flinthills 50-46 on Monday and Otis-Bison 64-50 on Thursday.
The Reno County Sabres girls squad placed third in the Falcon Classic with a 40-28 win over the Cunningham girls.
Bella Spexarth led the Sabre girls team with 18 points.
The Fairfield girls basketball team lost to Stafford 46-37 but still secured fifth place based on a tiebreaker.
The Sabres boys basketball team advanced to the championship game of the Falcon Classic with a 71-41 victory over Fairfield in the semifinals Thursday night at Langdon.
Leading scorers for the Sabres were Asberry with 16 points. Loewen scored 13 points, Josh Schmidt 12 and Jett Smith 11. Emmit Miller added 9 points, Colt Smith 6, Bo Smith 2 and Ryan Cass 2.
Flinthills defeated Cunningham 58-42 in the other boys semifinal game on Thursday.
