Great Bend 43, Buhler 26
Great Bend, KAN. – In a game of two otherwise evenly matched teams, Great Bend’s Ian Premer inserted himself firmly in the spotlight during Friday Night’s win over Buhler. The 6-6 receiver hauled in five passes, all for touchdowns, and 167 yards.
Buhler’s offense moved the ball well in the first half. The Crusaders held a 19-14 lead following a Brendan Scripsick to Cash Carson touchdown pass late in the second quarter. Scripsick finished the game with a career-best 156 yards passing.
The night, however, belonged to Premer. He answered Buhler’s touchdown with an 86-yard score of his own on Great Bend’s next possession.
A Mitchell McDaniel pick-six made it a 10-point game late in the third quarter, but Buhler could get no closer. Premer made sure of that. With the Crusaders’ offense on the move early in the fourth, Premer reached out and snatched away a Scripsick pass intended for Brady Gotti in the end zone.
Buhler, 2-1, will return home to host Circle on Homecoming this Friday at Crusader Stadium.
