Preview: Inman Takes on Moundridge in 1A Regional Playoff Game Friday night

On Oct. 24, the Inman Teutons football team defeated Heart of America League and district rival Moundridge 22-7 at Moundridge.

Friday night, the two schools hook up again in the Kansas Class 1A state playoff regional round at Inman. Inman has a 7-1 record and Moundridge is 6-2.

In the first round of the Kansas 1A state football playoffs, Inman knocked off Conway Springs 14-13 and Moundridge defeated Medicine Lodge 33-7.

In Inman’s victory over Conway Springs last week, the Teutons had 307 total yards (172 rushing and 135 passing).

Quarterback Malachi Brunk completed 4-of-4 passes against Conway Springs for 135 yards, including a 50-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Jerrick.

Brunk has rushed for 1,237 yards rushing and 1,011 yards passing this season. He has thrown 10 TD passes and has 17 rushing TDs.

The Moundridge-Inman regional winner plays the Hays-Thomas More Prep-Marian (6-2)/Smith Center (9-0) regional winner in the sectional round on Friday, Nov. 14.

The Kansas sub-state round games (semifinals) take place Friday, Nov. 21.

Kansas Class 5A, 3A and 1A state championship games will be played Friday, Nov. 28.

The 6A, 4A, 2A, Eight-Man I, Eight-Man II and Six-Man state championships will be played Saturday, Nov. 29.

The 6A, 5A and 5A and state championship games will be played at Emporia State University’s Welch Stadium.

The 3A, 2A and 1A state championship games will be played at Gowans Stadium in Hutchinson.

The Eight-Man I, Eight-Man II and Six-Man state championships will be played at Greensburg-Kiowa County High School Stadium.
