Pretty Prairie’s Amity White qualified for the 1A state cross country meet with a third-place time of 20:54 at the Class 1A regional 5K race Saturday at Prairie Ridge Cross Country Park in Hutchinson.
Pretty Prairie’s Ava White placed 16th, 23:09.2; Brennan Schrag, 30th, 24:36.1; Ava Goering, 34th, 26:13.3; and Shantell Willis, 42nd, 27:52.3.
In the boys 5K race, Pretty Prairie’s Eli Young placed 44th, 20:31.5; followed by Lucas Miller, 49th, 20:49.2; Zac England, 50th, 20:55.9; and Dayton Mohs, 59th, 21:28.2.
Issac Jones led the Burrton boys with a 17th-place finish. His time was 18:46.4. Logan Lane placed 43rd, 20:29.9; and Ryker Barnes, 55th, 21:17.1.
The state cross country meets for Classes 6A, 5A and 3A will take place on Saturday, Nov. 1, at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence. The state meets for Classes 4A, 2A and 1A will take place Nov. 1 at the Wamego Country Club.
