Amity White, Ava White, Brennan Schrag, Ava Goering and Shantell Willis were Pretty Prairie High School’s representatives at the Kansas Class 1A girls state cross country meet Saturday at Wamego Country Club.
The Pretty Prairie squad placed sixth in the team standings with 108 points. Ness City won the team title with 30 points, followed by Montezuma-South Gray 69, Colony-Crest 95 and Rexford-Golden Plains 100.
Pretty Prairie’s Amity White placed 13th with a 5K time of 21 minutes, 6.94 seconds.
Ava White placed 47th with a 5K time of 23 minutes, 19.56 seconds, followed by Schrag, 62nd, 24:40.83; Goering, 64th, 24:51.81; and Willis, 89th, 28:24.39.
Ellis runners Avery Boydston and Taryn Boydston placed first and second in the 1A girls individual competition with times of 18:53.45 and 18:54.2.
Quinter won the Kansas Class 1A boys state title with 34 points, followed by Ness City with 48 points and Meade with 56 points.
Goessel’s Eli Gaeddert captured first-place individual medalist honors with a time of 16 minutes, 2.8 seconds.
