McPHERSON, Kan. – The McPherson Pipeliners were in action for the 4th straight day Thursday, as they hosted the Kansas Curve at Light Capital.
Nathan Brown started for McPherson throwing 4 scoreless innings, and in the bottom of the inning Jayden Leonhardt would bring in Jack Hirchert with an RBI single to give the Pipeliners a 1-0 lead.“We had a great outing by Nathan Brown,” said Head Coach Ryan Child, “Unfortunately we had trouble when we got to the bullpen.”
The Curve would take the lead in the third, scoring three runs before adding a run in the next two innings. The Pipeliners would be shutout the rest of the way, and the Curve added three more in the ninth to defeat McPherson 8-1.
Jaxson Edwards was 2 for 2 at the plate with a double, while Jack Hirchert also had a multi-hit game going 2 for 4. Coach Child mentioned out-hitting the Curve, but ultimately reflected by saying, “We just couldn’t string hits together to generate runs
The Pipes will return to action Friday, when they travel to Wellington to take on the Heat at 7:00 p.m.
