Pawnee Heights Opens Playoffs with Lopsided Victory

Cody Holste and Alexis Ibarra accounted for 10 of the 13 Pawnee Heights touchdowns on Thursday, as the two Tiger seniors put together a memorable playoff win, helping Pawnee Heights defeat Triplains-Brewster 83-6 in the opening round of the six-man playoffs in Rozel.

The score was 57-0 at the end of the first quarter. Then the second quarter opened up with Triplains-Brewster’s lone touchdown, coming on a 60-yard kickoff return by senior Nate Peterson. The game then ended at halftime due to the 45-point mercy rule.

Pawnee Heights improved to 5-4 and will move on to the regional round to take on the 5-4 Cheylin Cougars in Bird City next Friday.
