Nickerson High School’s new girls basketball coach is Allie Frederick.
The announcement was made Tuesday on the Panther Athletics and Activities Facebook page.
“We are excited to announce Allie Frederick as our new head girls basketball coach,” said the school on Facebook. “Coach Frederick brings strong leadership, competitive experience and a passion for developing student-athletes.”
A standout at Clay Center High School, Frederick was a four-time state qualifier and member of a Class 4A Division II State Championship team. She went on to play collegiately at Bethany College.
“She has gained valuable coaching experience at the middle school and high school levels, while also working with youth programs,” announced the school. “In addition to basketball, she currently coaches volleyball and softball at Nickerson, demonstrating her commitment to building well-rounded athletes.
“Coach Frederick is known for building a positive team culture centered on accountability, effort and toughness. She is dedicated to developing confident, respectful young women both on and off the court. We are excited for the future of our girls basketball program under coach Frederick’s leadership.”
