The Nickerson High School varsity girls and boys basketball teams were swept by Larned Tuesday night at Larned.
The Nickerson varsity girls lost to Larned 65-18 and the Panther varsity boys lost 72-54.
The Larned girls led 17-3 at the end of the first quarter, 37-11 at halftime and 53-16 at the end of the third quarter. The Larned girls outscored Nickerson 12-2 in the fourth quarter.
Larned’s Jadyn Crosby poured in a career-high 28 points. Taeten Reynolds added 10 and Cassidy Wachs scored 7 for the Indians. Centhiyah Bankston scored 11 of Nickerson’s 18 points.
In the varsity boys game, Nickerson trailed 25-12 at the end of the first quarter, 35-23 at halftime and 55-44 after three periods.
Larned’s Kylier Greene dominated with 32 points. Triatan Regan added 14 and Grady Painkston tallied 11.
Nickerson’s Easton Clifford put together a 27-point effort. Austin Patterson scored 17 points for the Panthers.
Nickerson hosts Smoky Valley on Friday night and Larned hosts Halstead.
