COLBY, Kan. (KJCCC.org) – Key performances from Neosho County’s Dylan Roberts and Pratt’s Andres Ballaster Martinez in conference games last week have led to Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 2 Men’s Soccer Player of the Week honors for week four of the season.
Dylan Roberts (Neosho County) –Roberts started both games last week for the Panthers as Neosho won 4-2 over previously number seven-ranked Johnson County before a 3-0 home win over Iowa Central. In the first game of the week against the seventh-ranked Cavaliers, Roberts scored two goals in an important top-15 clash in the NJCAA D2 rankings and two teams that entered the match tied atop the KJCCC standings. Roberts opened the scoring against Johnson and netted again in the second half to finish the night with four points. Another important game three days later led to another goal for Roberts as the Panthers finished off a perfect week with a 3-0 shutout win.
Andres Ballaster Martinez (Pratt) – Ballaster Martinez posted two shutouts for the Beavers this past week in net, stopping all 14 shots he faced as Pratt earned a 3-0 road win at Allen and a 4-0 home win over Hesston. The wins were the first two of the season for PCC, who is now 2-1-0 in the KJCCC and in second place in the KJCCC standings.
