WICHITA, Kan. – McPherson High School’s Cross Country teams began the postseason on Thursday, Oct. 16 with the AVCTL Div. 3-4 meet. Bullpup senior Caleb Muehler won the boys individual title, while the boys placed 3rd as a team and the girls 4th.
Five runners, three boys and two girls, medaled to earn All-League honors. Muehler led with a time of 16:18, winning the individual league title. Kayden Friesen finished 9th (18:02) and Tripp Pelzel in 11th (18:05).
The girls were led by Reesa Whorton, who finished 10th with a time of 21:40. Adeline Kramer finished 14th with a time of 22:29.
“Both teams have been putting together solid practices, which we look to build on as we compete at Regionals next week,” Head Coach Nikolous Rempe said.
McPherson will prepare for Regionals, which will take place at Marion High School’s stadium on Saturday, Oct. 25.
