In the Class 2A boys Berean Academy sub-state B play at Moundridge, the Moundridge Wildcats improved to 20-3 with an 83-22 win over Herington. Moundridge, which put 10 players in the scoring column, led 50-12 at halftime.
Easton Shahan led the Wildcats with 15 points. Kaden Godwin added 12 points, Josh Koehn 10, Raymond Kauffman 9, Jesse Lutz 8 and Layton Schmidt 8.
Jah’Cure Thomas led Herington with 7 points. Jeffrey Zillyette added 6.
The host Berean Academy boys defeated Hillsboro 64-35 Friday night at Elbing. The Warriors put the game away with a 35-14 second half.
Jace Unruh led the Berean Warriors with 20 points. Nolan Sweazy scored 15 and Wyatt Friesen 12. Koehn Janzen led the Hillsboro Trojans with 17 points. Braxton Hiebert added 12.
In the other Berean sub-state B boys games, Conway Springs defeated Marion 56-43 and Republic County defeated Whitewater-Remington 47-37.
In the Berean sub-state boys semifinals, Berean Academy plays Conway Springs and Moundridge plays Republic County.
In the Berean sub-state A boys quarterfinal games Friday, Solomon defeated Sedgwick 49-26, Wichita Classical defeated Wichita Central Christian 57-34, Salina Sacred Heart defeated Belle Plaine 74-29 and Inman lost to Bennington 39-38.
In the semifinals on Wednesday, Sacred Heart plays Bennington and Wichita Classical plays Solomon.
The semifinal winners in each sub-state play for the championships on Saturday.
