HOISINGTON, Kan. — The Pratt Greenbacks, tailed in the top five in Kansas Class 3A, defeated the Reno County Homeschool Sabres 78-45 Thursday night at the Hosington Winter Jam.
Pratt’s Arley Morrell led the Greenbacks with 27 points. Caleb Strong added 15.
Colt Smith led the Reno County Sabres with 14 points and Jett Smith added 12.
In other boys games, Hoisington defeated Minneapolis 62-50 and La Crosse defeated Ellinwood 55-37.
Mason Martin led the Hoisington Cardinals with 33 points on six 3-pointers, six 2-pointers and three free throws.
Owen Just led the Minneapolis Lions with 26 points, including three 3-pointers.
Christian Rush led the La Crosse Leopard boys with 22 points, including four 3-pointers. Lee Holopirek fired in four 3-pointers for 12 points. Austin black and Drake Hosman each scored 9 points for the Ellinwwood Eagles and Luke Heinz added 7.
In the only girls game Thursday, Pratt defeated Victoria 64-38.
Hope Hughes fired in 29 points for the Pratt girls, including five 3-pointers. Kaylee Kuhn led the Victoria Knights with 12 points. Emma Schmidtberger scored 10.
Friday’s Hoisington Winter Jam schedule was changed because of projected inclement weather conditions.
The Pratt girls will play the LaCrosse girls at noon, followed by the Ellinwood girls against the Minneapolis girls at 1:30 p.m. and the Victoria boys against the Hoisington boys at 3 p.m.
