The Hutchinson Monarchs continued their offensive onslaught Saturday at Derby, where the Monarchs scored the first six runs en route to a 9-2 win over the Derby Twins.

The win was the Monarchs’ fourth straight, and they’ve scored 51 runs in those wins.

Brett Smajstria led the Monarchs’ 10-hit attack with three singles. He added one RBI and scored twice.

Zerick Wilson added two hits and one RBI for the Monarchs.

Ian Regal earned the win on the mound, throwing five shutout innings. Regal gave up just two hits and struck out two. Reed Scott, Derick Johnson and Carson Cornelius combined to pitch the final four innings.

The Monarchs are now 4-2. Sunday’s home game against Great Bend has been postponed, and they will make the trip to Great Bend for a 7 p.m. game Monday.
