Monarchs drop first game of the season, falling at Haysville

Despite outhitting the Haysville Aviators 10-7 on Tuesday, the Hutchinson Monarchs lost their first game of the season, 6-5 in Haysville.

Keegan Demmer led the way with three hits, while Blake Bradford, Jackson Legg and JJ Spafford had two hits each. Legg also drove in three runs.

The Monarchs struck out 11 times

Cole Toureau was the losing pitcher, giving up five runs on four hits and five walks in 3 1/3 innings.

The Monarchs return to Haysville at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
