WICHITA, Kan., (MacBulldogs.com) — McPherson attempted to make a big comeback against the Friends Falcons on Saturday (Oct. 5) night but came up short in a 5-2 final.
It took a mere minute and a half for the Falcons to break open the scoring as Jose Quiel scored the game’s opening goal. Caique Pereira added to it with a goal in the 10th minute to quickly make it a 2-0 deficit for MC. The 1st half continued to be a struggle as in the 38th minute, the Falcons made it a 3-0 mountain to climb for the Bulldogs.
Friends was able to make it 4-0 in the 57th minute before MC was finally able to crack into the scoreboard thanks to Zane Sullivan just 20 seconds after the Friends goal to make it 4-1. The potential of the comeback was sparked after Eric Mendoza made it 4-2 in the 70th minute, but the Falcons erased all doubt in the 84th minute to make it 5-2.
The Bulldogs stay on the road for their next matchup against Bethel College. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
