LAS CRUCES, N.M. (BlueDragonSports.com) – Freshman Jack Northgraves and sophomore Charlie Box both shot a team-low 1-over 72 on Tuesday to lead the No. 2-ranked Hutchinson Community College in the final round of the Herb Wimberly Memorial hosted by New Mexico State University.
In a field mixed with NCAA Division I and NJCAA Division I programs, the Blue Dragons finished eighth in the 15-team field with a 54-hole total of 868 at the Par-71 University Golf Course.
The Dragons shot a 7-over 291 on Tuesday, counting scores from Northgraves (72), Box (72), Louis Ross (73) and David Razinskas (74).

New Mexico State won the team title with a score of 825 (-27). The Aggie shot 8-under 276 on Tuesday. NJCAA No. 1 Midland College was second at 842 (-10). The Chapparals fired a 281 on Tuesday.
The Blue Dragons were the fifth-highest NJCAA finisher in the tournament. Odessa (285-858) placed fifth, while New Mexico Junior College (281-866) and South Mountain (278-866) tied for sixth.
Box was the low Blue Dragon individual, tying for 16th 1-over 214. Box had rounds of 71, 71 and 72 in the tournament.
Northgraves tied for 23rd individually with a 54-hole total of 2-over 215. Northgraves had rounds of 73, 70 and 72.
Ross tied for 43rd at 219 (75-71-73). Razinskas finished tied for 63rd at 225 (75-76-74). Freshman Jaydon Carruthers finished tied for 59th at 224. Carruthers closed with a 78 on Tuesday after rounds of 72 and 74 on Monday.
The Blue Dragons will close out the 2024 fall season next Thursday and Friday, October 24-25 at the NJCAA National Preview at Sand Creek Station in Newton.
