HIGHLAND, Kan. (GoNeosho.com) – The Neosho County men’s basketball team lost a conference game on the road at Highland Community College 75-64 on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers were unable to overcome 22 turnovers that led to 23 points for Highland. Neosho County trailed the Scotties 40-27 at halftime, before cutting the lead to 4 points late in the 2nd half.
Sophomore post player Jordayn Buhrle led the Panthers in scoring with 23 points. Other Panthers scoring in double figures were sophomore Damian Jones with 16 points and redshirt sophomore Michael Doria with 11 points. Redshirt sophomore Aaron Doria had 10 rebounds to lead the Panthers, with Damian Jones adding 7 rebounds. Jones also had 4 assists to lead the Panthers.
Neosho County is now 9-14 on the season and 2-7 in conference play. The Panther’s resume play Wednesday night with a game at conference rival Allen County Community College at 8:00 PM.
