OTTAWA, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) – For the second consecutive game, the Bulldogs scored 99 points, but this time found themselves on the losing end, falling to Ottawa University 101-99 Saturday (Feb. 1) at Wilson Fieldhouse in Ottawa, Kan.

Six Bulldogs scored in double-figures, led by Curtis Rose, who scored a season-high 27 points. Jamil Hardaway added 24 points, thanks to five made three pointers. Charles Snyder notched his third double-double of the season, scoring 16 points and pulling down 15 rebounds. Dason Cook scored a career-high 12 points, while Aaron Williams Jr. and Tarrance Austin each finished with 10 points apiece.

The Braves seemingly couldn’t miss in the second half, using a 68.8 field goal percentage to score 61 second-half points. Ottawa was also 7-for-12 from beyond the arc in the final frame.

MC trailed by as many as 13 points with just over six minutes to play in the game, but an 11-2 burst by the Bulldogs that included a four-point play by Hardaway, quickly trimmed the lead to 85-81. A putback by Jayden Hibbitt pushed the Ottawa lead to six once again, but Hardaway drilled yet another three to make it a one possession game.

The Braves again extended their lead to 92-85, but MC had one last response, scoring five straight points capped off by huge triple by Cook. Then Hardaway did it on the defensive end, drawing an offensive foul and giving the Bulldogs the ball with 2:02 to play and trailing 92-90.

Then tied 94-94, Hibbitt made his second triple of the contest to take a three-point lead with 55 seconds remaining. A missed three by Hardaway forced the Bulldogs to foul down the stretch, and Najee Jones made his free throws to take down the Bulldogs.

Jones led the Braves in the scoring column with 38 points, six assists, and was a perfect 14-for-14 at the charity stripe. Keith Robinson added 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Ottawa shot 55.2 percent from the field, and went 12-for 25 from beyond the arc.

The Bulldogs are back in action Wednesday, traveling to Lindsborg to take on Bethany College. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
