GOODWELL, Okla. (MacBulldogs.com) – Six Bulldogs scored in double figures as McPherson College improved to 2-0 Tuesday (Oct. 31) with an 81-63 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Okla.
Collin Storr led all scorers with 17 points and pulled down a team-high nine rebounds. Owen Braxmeyer finished with a team-best five assists and three steals, while also adding 11 points. Curtis Rose was second for the Bulldogs with four assists and ten points.
The Bulldogs trailed for just four minutes and 15 seconds before using an 11-1 burst to grab an 18-9 advantage with 12 minutes to play in the first half, then another 13-2 run to take a commanding 32-13 lead with 6:34 left in the half.
MC led 44-23 at the break, then held the Aggies at bay the rest of the way for the win.
The Bulldogs (2-0) shot 44.6 percent from the field, including 50 percent (10-for-20) from beyond the arc. The Bulldogs defense held OPSU to just 27.3 percent from deep.
MC got a big boost from their bench with Antonio Watson scoring 13 points and Jerome Mabry adding 12 points and six rebounds.
The Bulldogs are back in action next Tuesday (Nov. 7) for the Mayor’s Cup against crosstown rival Central Christian College. Tipoff is slated for 8:00 p.m.
