McPHERSON, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) — A fantastic 30 win season for the McPherson College volleyball gets capped off with a couple of individual awards as Brooke McHale and Hadley Waldren were named to the AVCA NAIA west central region first team while Enya Fierens nabbed an honorable mentions spot.
“Hadley, Brooke, and Enya all had great seasons.” Head coach Cory Cahill said. “They showed up everyday for their team and these awards are testaments to their work ethics and abilities. I’m proud of them for these accomplishments!”
McHale was an instant impact spark in her first season with the Bulldogs as she emerged as the team’s top attacker. Finishing the year with 365 total kills, an average of 2.85 kills per set, and an attack percentage of .280, the junior from Texas was one of the best on the front line in the entire country.
Waldren ended her final season with a bang. A mainstay on a loaded MC front line, she finished her senior year with a career high 286 kills and a strong .451 attack percentage The senior from Kansas was also a wall on the defensive side, tallying up the second most blocks on the team with 105 total blocks.
A strong 2024 campaign for Fierens was good enough for the sophomore from Belgium to earn a spot on the honorable mentions team. Another big piece of the front line for MC, she finished third on the team with 286 kills, 2.27 kills per set, and an attack percentage of .361. Fierens also was the team leader in blocks with 116 total blocks.
