McPHERSON, Kan. – The McPherson Middle School 8th Grade Girls Basketball team has been dominant in the 2025 season so far, but it was highlighted by a points-assists-steals triple-double on Thursday, Dec. 4, in their 69-6 win over Arkansas City.

Elles Pavlovich, one of the star players on the 8th Grade A team, finished Thursday’s game with 14 points, 14 assists, and 15 steals. While there is no confirmation on whether the assists or steals mark broke any school records, head coach Matt Sandbo said it was the most assists and steals he’d seen from a player in his short time coaching. Pavlovich is the youngest daughter of McPherson High School Football’s head coach, Jace Pavlovich.

The 8th Grade A team is 10-0, averaging 51 points per game and outscoring their opponents by an average of 41 points. The team has two regular-season games remaining, which will be at home on Monday, Dec. 8 vs. Winfield and Thursday, Dec. 11 vs. Clearwater. The season will then conclude with their league tournament.
