McPHERSON, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) – The Doane University Tigers scored a pair of goals less than two minutes apart to take control and knock off the McPherson College Bulldogs 3-0 Saturday (Sep. 2) at McPherson Stadium.
The Tigers struck in the 15th minute with a goal from Guillem Colom, then Colom made it a 2-0 Doane lead scoring again just 1:38 later, finding a rebound on a shot by Cesar Gonzalez. Doane pushed their lead to 3-0 less than five minutes into the second half on a goal by Gonzalez.
The Bulldogs (0-3-0) finished with 15 shots, but just four on-goal compared to nine scoring opportunities by the Tigers. Anthony Pereira paced the Bulldogs with three shots-on-goal.
MC will be back in action on Monday when they travel to Baldwin City, Kan. for a neutral site contest against Texas Wesleyan. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
