
McPHERSON, Kan. – McPherson (Kan.) junior running back Jalil Brown ran for 132 yards on 16 carries and added four catches for 108 yards, scoring a pair of touchdowns – one rushing, one receiving – to claim the 2025 season’s first individual award as NAIA Offensive Player of the Week.
Brown helped the Bulldogs improve to 2-0, beating Bethel (Kan.), 33-7, a week after taking down Avila (Mo.), 52-7. Brown’s touchdown reception against Bethel was his first of the season, but his rushing score was his fourth, scoring three times on the ground in the season opener against Avila and again in the win over Bethel.
In Saturday’s win, Brown hauled in a 24-yard pass from Ryan Markarian to make it 7-0, and he helped ice the game in the fourth quarter with a 50-yard touchdown run.
All told, Brown has rushed 29 times for 279 yards through two games in 2025, adding nine receptions for 162 yards.
Brown and the Bulldogs are back at home Saturday, hosting Tabor (Kan.) at 6 p.m. NAIA Football Players of the Week are announced Monday afternoons at NAIA.org.
