Local High School Volleyball teams in McPherson County were in action on Tuesday, Sept. 30 as the regular seasons near the finish line.
MOUNDRIDGE & INMAN
The Moundridge Wildcats and Inman Teutons met on Tuesday, with the Wildcats sweeping Inman on the road. Game one ended in a 25-21 & 25-20 two-set sweep for Moundridge. Game two ended in a three-set thriller. Moundridge took set one 25-22 before Inman won set two 25-21, but the deciding set went to the Wildcats 25-22.
Moundridge has a 23-2 record, seeing them in first place in their regional standings. Inman is 15-9 on the season, currently in 9th in the same region.
CANTON-GALVA
The Canton-Galva Eagles were on the road Tuesday in a triangular against Herington and Rural Vista. The Eagles won their match against Herington in two sets (25-14, 25-12). However, they fell in their second match to Rural Vista in two sets (18-25, 21-25).
Canton-Galva is now 12-9 on the season, sitting in 5th place in 1A-DI Region 2 standings.
ELYRIA CHRISTIAN
The Elyria Christian Eagles also played on Tuesday, winning both matches at home. Elyria defeated Solomon in two sets (25-22, 25-16) before defeating Wakefield in a sweep as well (25-9, 25-23).
Elyria Christian is 8-13 on the season, placing them 6th in 1A-DII Region 1 standings.
2A & 3A Regionals will take place on October 20 and 1A Regionals will start the following day. Sub-State will then be held on Saturday, Oct. 25 for all classes.
The State Championships will then take place October 30-November 1. The 2A and 1A-DI tournament will take place in Dodge City and the 1A-DII tournament will be held in Emporia.
