LAWRENCE, Kan. – Area cross-country athletes from McPherson County high schools traveled to Lawrence for the annual Rim Rock Classic.
The classic, hosted every year by the University of Kansas at its home cross country facility, brought in 171 schools in total from Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, and Arkansas. The varsity meets were separated into three divisions: Crimson, Blue, and Gold.

McPHERSON HIGH SCHOOL
The Bullpup Girls Varsity team took part in the Blue division. The team finished 27th out of 43 teams overall, led individually by Kamryn Prescott’s 54th-place finish out of 376 athletes. Reese Whorton finished in 81st, and Adeline Kramer finished 154th.
The Boys were in the Gold division, where they finished in 35th. Caleb Muehler medaled with an 18th-place finish individually. Kayden Friesen finished in 146th and Tripp Pelzel in 192nd out of 258 runners.
INMAN HIGH SCHOOL
The Inman Girls team also took part in the Blue division, finishing 40th overall. The Teutons were led by Loki Turcotte’s 186th-place finish. Abigail Seimens finished in 244th and Addison Wedel in 264th.
The Teuton Boys were in the Blue division. They did not have a team score due to only having four runners. However, they had a strong day led by Tyler Martisko’s 10th-place finish (17:02.87) and Riley Roots finishing in 30th.
MOUNDRIDGE HIGH SCHOOL
The Moundridge Girls and Boys teams also took part in the Blue division.
The Girls team finished 36th in the division as a team. Baylee Schriner led in 74th, followed by Haylee Jantz in 123rd and 178th, respectively.
The Boys team placed 40th in the division. Dan Kuder finished in 70th to lead the Wildcats. Andrew Porter finished 188th, and Colter Adolf finished 203rd.
