McPHERSON, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) — In their first game in front of the McPherson faithful, the Bulldogs were unable to claim victory against the Mount Marty University Lancers, falling by a score of 3-0 on Sunday (Sep 1) afternoon.
Neither squad could gather up any momentum in the first half as the game was deadlocked at zero, but the Lancer came alive in half number two. Mount Marty’s Gabe Cox would open the scoring at the 47th minute and the Lancers would be off and running from there as Dan Tibbett and Jadon Britts added a pair of goals at the 66th the 85th minute mark respectively to get the 3-0 victory.
The Bulldogs only recorded a pair of shots on goal during the contest as Nathan Van Wyck and Abel Reichert both got it on target, but goalkeeper Alessio Pirrello of Mount Marty recorded saves on both shots. Keito Takehara Jr. made his third start in as many games as the goalkeeper for MC and played the entire 90 minutes.
The Bulldogs are back on the road for their next matchup as they head to Baldwin City to take on Baker University on Saturday (Sep 7) for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
