Inman 24, Trinity Catholic 6
Malachi Brunk ran for 111 yards and a touchdown, and added 112 yards through the air and another score, as Inman dominated the time of possession in opening the season with a win.
The Teutons had the ball first and ate up more than 9 minutes of clock before turning the ball over on downs. That set the tone for the game, as Inman had more than 300 yards of offense, compared to 151 for Trinity.
Brunk opened the scoring with a 1-yard run with 5 minutes, 21 seconds left in the second quarter, which gave the Teutons a 6-0 lead at halftime.
Brunk threw a touchdown pass to Tyler Jerrick, and Kru Harris’ 3-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter for an 18-0 lead. Luke Kearns got Trinity on the board on a wild 62-yard run where 21 players on the field assumed he had been tackled and stopped, but Kearns never was down and went all the way to the end zone.
